Rwanda National Police recovers stolen motor cycles

Two motorcycles that were stolen recently have been recovered separately in Gicumbi and Muhanga districts. Two people identified as Jean Bosco Hakizimana and Jean Bosco Ndayambaje, have also been arrested in the separate operations conducted jointly by Police and investigators.

 “The motorcycle registration number RE 567C was reported stolen by the victim Pierre Mbonabucya, on September 11 in Nyamirambo, and from the start Hakizimana was the prime suspect,” Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Emmanuel Kayigi, the Police spokesperson for the City of Kigali, said.

“Hakizimana was located and arrested on Monday in Masoro Cell of Ndera Sector in Gasabo District, and during interrogation he revealed that he took the motorcycle to Gicumbi District where it was later recovered,” he added.

The second motorcycle; TVS RD035H belonging to one Viateur Musabyimana was recovered the same day in Shyogwe Sector in Muhanga from Ndayambaje, the suspected thief.

Police thanked the people for their information which led to the arrest of the suspects and to recover the stolen motorcycles.

“Timely reporting in such cases of theft is paramount; it facilitates timely response to recover what was stolen and to arrest suspects,” CIP Kayigi said.
