Students start Primary Leaving Examinations

 Primary six schools Countrywide  yesterday 12th November  started national examinations . 138,831 female and 116,342 male candidates have begun their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) which will last until 14th November 2018.

 This year’s total number of 255,173 primary six pupils marks an increase of 7.6 % in general compared to 2017 which recorded 237181 candidates for PLE.

As for the examinations schedule, Mathematics and Social studies examinations were examined on day one, Elementary Sciences & Technology will be done on day two , Kinyarwanda on the last day.

858 examinations centers  were chosen  to host PLE across the country.

At national level, PLE were launched by the Minister of State in Charge of Primary and Secondary Education Dr.Isaac Munyakazi at EP Kacyiru  I in Gasabo district , Kigali City.

The Minister of State told candidates “I am confident that you had enough time to revise all your lessons and that you are going to pass and go to the next level- secondary school. He later stressed "dear pupils, please make your teachers, parents and country proud!”

EP Kacyiru I examination center has 507 candidates from 4 different surrounding schools, among whom 249 are female and 258 male.
